Pleasant Conversations with a Pair of Captives
Denlo, with the help of Alessari and Sister Hilan, brings the unconscious prisoners into the belowdecks. Settling the pair on beds, Den perches across from them. He doesn’t like wearing the masked helmet on the ship, it gets a bit warm and sweaty wearing that much leather, but he does not want them to see him as a person. He wants them to understand, when they wake up, that he is merely another force of nature. He notices the pair are still milling about. “I have this. Help

Felazo Ambushes an Attempted Ambush
The walk is relatively uneventful as they carry their rowboat back to the ship. Coming along the end of the path, where the cavern lets out onto the island, Den furrows his brow and holds up a hand. Everyone stops. Felazo notices the noble scion has her bow drawn, an arrow waiting on its string. Slowly the three of them shuffle the boat to the side of the path, setting it down and having the prisoners hide behind it. Felazo nods, smiles a wicked grin, and pulls out his book.

Awakening on a Clay Beach
Alessari ud Tise’el feels groggy as she stirs from a forced sleep. Something weird happened. She was focused, in the middle of them being ambushed, when everything started to slow. Looking around, she’s no longer in that field of a valley, but now on some kind of beach. No, not just some kind of beach. The shore of the island that the temple is on. So they haven’t left yet. Her crew are around, Ren and Felazo treating some minor wounds. As well as two others, tied up. And scr

A Hastily Concocted Ambush in the Hills
Sister Hilan follows the rest of her crew up the rope, but not before taking one last look around the strange temple. It has brought up some questions, but not the heart of the one. No more insight into the change. Why magic itself shattered. The books Felazo found may well bring more knowledge on that time, but it seems as though this place was not expecting whatever happened. She shakes her head, and begins to climb up the rope. As I reach the top, Felazo is waiting by the

Renalt Reflects on the Rewards of the Religious Repository
The door to the final room swings open. Renalt smiles, pocketing the golden key. He can’t help but wonder what lies behind the massive, heavy door. It was protected, after all, and kept locked even when the only people in the hall were those who lived here. Or, at least, those whom the people who lived here allowed to come and go as their god pleased. Probably means it’s more than just a gold vault, as being trapped during whatever event happened related to those corpses lock

Denlo Takes the Burden unto Himself
Den slides down the rope that his captain had let into the gap in the temple wall, and quickly realizes it isn’t in the wall, but the roof. Soon enough, his foot starts dangling. From the looks of it, a good bit from the ground. Maybe a person’s height, maybe a bit more. Best to know before the blind folk come down. The massive Elfi’ika lets go of the rope, dropping smoothly to the floor. His leg hits the ground harder than he’d have liked. He misjudged the distance a bit. Cl

Felazo Speaks with Sister Hilan Comparing a God and an Aspect
As the silence consumes the valley, the crew stops for a moment. Sister Hilan, looking towards the statue, seems deep in thought. Felazo watches the young scion approach the good sister, to clean and deal with her wounds, and so he heads over to lend some aid. He does his best to help organize and swiftly hand off her tools as she works, but the young woman seems distracted. Both of them actually. Eventually, the monastic warrior speaks up. “It’s odd, this predates our arriva

Hunting and Slaying the Okraten-Bears
Walking across the clay beach, Alessari ud Tise’el tries to avoid thinking about her companion’s concerns. Focus on the present, and she can concern herself with the ship-beast that might have expanded its hunting ground. As they cross the clay beach into the brush, Sari turns to Renalt. “So, which way was it to this dome?” Ren frowns, looks back towards the previous island as though trying to find the camouflaged watchtower, then forwards towards the brush-covered hills. “I

The Journey through the Woods and Waves
The walk back to the underground cavern which held the port is rather uneventful. In the back of the group, as they walk, Sister Hilan notices Renalt and Denlo starting to whisper. The monastic sister dismisses it though. After all, they did so frequently. It’s likely a discussion of how to do something less than legal, she guesses about one of the odd miscellanea that the Elfi’ika picked up in that watchtower. She trusts that, if the discussion were to turn to any topics of

From the Archipelago's Watchtower
The walk through this forest was not Renalt’s favorite time. Not due to any discomfort of walking several miles through the dirt, but rather because nothing happened for quite some time, but they were also trying to be quiet to avoid any potential dangerous, unwanted attention. Which means he hadn’t been able to practice or write but also hadn’t been gathering any new material. But now, they come upon a tower, in a clearing. Ren looks to the treetops around him, but no one i

Arrival in the Littoral Caves of the Archipelago
Below the decks, Den enjoys his breakfast while lying back on his hammock. He learned growing up in the kinslums that one should always catch sleep whenever they can, especially just ahead of a big job. And whether their boss was willing to admit it or not, this would be a big job. The last cube was a personal house of some dead guy, and it had several dangerous threats. Assuming the sites that survived to modern day are at least of roughly the same power, the chances of this
